In 2004 the AASC Research and Therapy Center was founded within the framework of THX INSTITUTE FOR IMMUNOLOGY AND THYMUS RESEARCH in Bad Harzburg, Germany, which has been in existence for 30 years,.

The aim of this foundation is to define and to focus the research, the development and the therapeutic approach of adult stem cell therapy.

The AASC Research and Therapy Center is located in the middle of Germany in the heart of Europe.

The center is directed by Milan C. Pesic, MD.

The AASC Research and Therapy Center works very closely on the national and the international level with experienced colleagues from the fields of haematology, oncology, immunology and stem cell research from France, the Netherlands, Croatia, Poland, Sweden, Serbia and Spain.

In the first half of 2005 a laboratory was established in Bad Harzburg, equipped with the most modern facilities for research and application in the field of stem cell therapy.

Research programs that are currently carried out in the laboratory include, amongst others, the examination of the influence of cytokines, that has a certain expressive effect on cell membranes in CD34-positive cells.

This research program shall be deepened and will be used in illnesses, such as RA (rheumatoid arthritis), diabetes mellitus or for post heart attack treatment.

The AASC Research and Therapy Center is generously supported by BIOFACTOR GmbH.
